The difference with last year was enormous. A sunny time during the whole weekend and not to hot.
On Friday: just like last year a bunch of volunteers started earlly to prepare the site for the fly in. Around 5 pm we could all go home, tired but staisfied. The Swedish Ercoupe arrived early this year.
Saturday 7am : coffee and cake for everybody. The day started beautiful. We had done a good job on Friday which ment that we could take it at a leisure today.Raymond Cuypers started early to bring out his collection of oldtimers. The Bronco turned up this year and was a real attraction for the public.
Around noon, we were informed that the Spitfire Mk.I had returned to it's base due to technical problems. A pity, but safety first of cource.
His absence was compensated by the taciing Hawker Fury which was presented to the public for the first time since it's restoration began 3 years ago.
We ended the day with the traditional BBQ in the hangar.
Sunday 8am : the day starts again fine with coffe and cake for the volunteers who had a - very - short night. The formation flight counted 12 SV-4's, a fabulous sight.
Around 5.30pm we started closing down and by 8pm evrything was back to normal.
We thank the public, the aircraft owners, the volunteers, the fire department, airport security and commander Verbist |
