After World War II, the Belgian Air Force ordered 65 Stampe SV-4B aircraft for its flying school. OO-EIR is the oldest still flying aircraft from this batch. It still proudly carries its original V4 code with which it was delivered to the Air Force on August 18th, 1948.
After thirty years of valuable service with the forces, V4 was sold to a private owner and became OO-EIR. During the early eighties, the aircraft was part of the Stampe trio operated by Dan Aviation. This team participated in several air shows. For a while it was stored and then restored by Gerrit Titeca to flying condition in May 1997.
