Stampe & Vertongen SV.4C (OO-GWA)

Belgian Air Force colours
and fake registration V-66

Although the aircraft never saw service with the Belgian Air Force, its colour scheme and fake V66 registration want to make you believe so.
The aircraft started its life in 1947 as F-BDBO and was used by the university aero club until 1957. After a period in storage, it was flown at the well-known airfield of La Ferté Alais between 1966 and 1970. It was sold in the United States early seventies but never used to fly. It was then bought by the Antwerp Stampe Center and restored by Gerrit Titeca, who was also responsible for the conversion to SV-4B (closed cockpit and Gipsy Major engine).
It has been operational with the Antwerp Stampe Museum ever since.
