This aircraft is unique: it is the last flying Stampe powered by a Blackburn Cirrus engine. This type of engine was used by the Belgian Air Force as an alternative to the Gipsy Major. Initially this aircraft flew with V48 BAF markings.
At the end of the fifties, the aircraft was one of the first that were put up for sale on the civilian market. Although it had several owners, the aircraft almost constantly remained at Antwerp Airport ever since.
