The Albatros is a German aircraft. During may 1918 there were over 1000 examples of this plane flying. Even the word-famous german ace Manfred Freiherr von Richthofen used an Albatros for quite a while. He operated from airfields in de vicinity of Kortrijk.
The Albatros wasn't capable of competing with the allied aircraft of that time, but the Germans tried to achieve victory by fighting in very large numbers.

This example is a replica that was constructed in the USA using original plans. It is fitted with an inverted Ranger engine. It used to be part of the Ryder's Replica Fighter museum in Alabama.

During 1995 it was used during filming of "Young Indiana Jones and the Attack of the Hawkmen".
